Even though Petrus didn't cooperate as much as in previous years at the annual World Children's Day on the Neckar meadow in Heidelberg, we as Terre des Hommes group were present with our work for worldwide children's (rights).
Against the backdrop of ever-shrinking safe spaces for children, including in Germany under the new federal government, we emphasized the importance of upholding children's rights and strengthening democracy. These rights apply to all children, including refugee children whose rights are severely curtailed, for example, by the suspension of family reunification. Despite the poor weather, which became very wet in the afternoon, our stand was once again well-attended. The hands-on activities, such as mini-table tennis and stone painting, were very popular, and by the end, all the stones had been painted. Terre des Hommes will continue its efforts to provide all children with such carefree moments.
