Children and young people make up almost a third of the world's population. According to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, they have a right to participate. Yet their voices are often ignored in crucial processes that directly affect them. Terre des Hommes is committed to promoting the participation of children and young people. In our projects, they actively participate and are empowered to help shape social and political processes. Support us!

Strengthening children and young people: Promoting participation
Participation is a key aspect of Terre des Hommes ' work. Children and young people must be able to have their say and participate in decision-making. In our projects, we work closely with girls and boys and support them in expressing their ideas and wishes. This allows them to actively contribute to changes that are important to them.
Children and young people often know exactly what they need. They also understand how their rights are connected to major global issues. Our task is to give them even more opportunities to express their opinions and demand their rights. We want to create spaces where they feel safe and can grow strong. We support them on this journey and help ensure their voices are heard and incorporated into important decisions. In this way, they can help shape the world and take control of their own future.
