Chile is characterized by extreme social inequality and discrimination. Children's rights are hardly implemented, especially in the slums, where numerous migrants from countries such as Venezuela and Haiti have settled. Many girls and boys live in fear and violence. Terre des Hommes promotes early childhood education, safe spaces and youth work, violence prevention, environmental awareness, and advocacy for children's rights with the government in these slums.
