Internships and missions abroad
As a child rights organization, we see it as our task to get involved in the training and promotion of young people as part of our possibilities. We offer internships for students in various areas of program work, public relations, fundraising and in the administration.
Framework
A prerequisite for an internship is an ongoing study in relevant areas (studies that are completed as possible). Preliminary experiences in the work area of the internship are desirable. The minimum deployment is 12 weeks. We usually pay an allowance of € 250/month. You will basically have a regular working week from Monday to Friday with 38.5 hours/week, which we can make flexible. In some areas there are also events on weekends. After consultation, part-time internships can also be made possible.
Our interns will receive instruction at the headquarters in Osnabrück or Berlin (depending on the location allocation) in the first few days. The majority of an internship is then coordinated in close coordination with the colleagues about an alternating activity in presence and mobile work. Interested parties must therefore be able to ensure the possibility of mobile work (Internet).
At the headquarters, of course, we follow all Corona-relevant requirements. Masks and self -tests are made available if the activity in the office is carried out. Hygienic regulations are of course observed.
Application
The application should contain a letter of motivation and curriculum vitae. Describe us what area your interest and what you want to learn in an internship. We would also be happy to give us an insight why you chose Terre des Hommes for your application and what motivates you to work for a child protection organization.
We usually need a lead of at least 2 months. We accept applications for 2022 at any time, applications for 2023 can be sent from November.
Together with our partner organizations in more 43 countries, we realize projects for children in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe. We also implement our international child protection policy in our everyday work. That is why we expect the willingness to work according to the child protection guidelines of Terre des Hommes and need an extended police certificate when setting. We are happy to cover the costs for the document.
Diversity is important to us. We look forward to applications from people regardless of their ethnic, national or social origin, gender, disability, age or sexual identity.
