A class from the special needs school in Hude visited the children's rights learning trail and our children's rights exhibition in Hude.
Special support for children with disabilities, as well as the right to information, is an important children's right. And so, a class from the Vielstedter Straße special needs school, at the initiative of their social worker, accompanied by their teacher and three other support staff, set off for the Kulturhof.
There, she met Regina and first introduced her to the children's rights learning trail in the playground behind the cultural center. For some of the children, around 12 years old, children's rights were new concepts. Through conversation and the suggestions on the information boards, the children found many points of connection to their own personal experiences.
After that, they went on a kind of "world tour" at our exhibition. There were many "ahs" and "ohs" when we talked about the situation of children in different parts of the world. But the encouraging statements also touched the children. Especially "You never know if you can do it if you don't try.".
