The Terre des Hommes Asia seminar took place at the Open University in Hagen with a large international participation. Three of us were there.
The directors of our regional offices Namrata in Pune, India, and BimBim in Bangkok, Thailand, along with two of their staff members, extended an invitation, which was accepted by members of the Terre des Hommes family from Alsace and Germany. Among those present were TDH board member Joshua Hofert, as well as Kerstin, Daniel, and Regina from our group.
The days from Friday afternoon to Sunday midday were packed with interesting first-hand information from the respective project regions. The range of countries spanned from Afghanistan and Nepal to the Philippines and Myanmar, and some of these countries brought particularly troubling news regarding the state of children's and human rights. At the same time, however, the dedication of our project partners on the ground was encouraging and showed us once again that our contribution is also important in improving the situation – even if it's just a drop in the ocean.
But there was also plenty of time for socializing and direct exchange.
Next year's Asia seminar will take place in Colmar, Alsace. We're definitely there again!
