Regarding the visa ban for Afghanistan:
Those eligible for asylum should receive assistance with departure
Terre des Hommes , the International Rescue Committee (IRC), medico international, and TERRE DES FEMMES are calling on the German government to immediately accept refugees, provide them with safe passage and support: People from Afghanistan who have been promised resettlement by Germany must be brought to safety immediately and supported in doing so.
"We view the recent news of the temporary suspension of all resettlement programs for vulnerable people from Afghanistan with great concern. The suspension of visa processing and issuance for an indefinite period has further exacerbated the existential crises for all those affected and created new dangers and uncertainties."
We call on the Federal Government to immediately issue visas for persons with offers of admission, to enable departure options for all those affected via all embassies – not just Islamabad – and to support all persons with offers of admission in transit countries until evacuation.
Furthermore, we believe the federal government has a duty to create transparency regarding all measures and to issue commitments for admission as quickly as possible within the framework of the federal admission program and the local worker procedures.
Vulnerable people from Afghanistan have a right to hope, security, and the prospect of survival.
