Deposit cups for children's rights

VfL Osnabrück and Terre des Hommes are turning the home game against Hertha BSC into a day of action

VfL Osnabrück and Terre des Hommes are making a strong statement for children's rights: Around the home game against Hertha BSC on September 13th, a major action day with numerous activities will take place at the Bremer Brücke stadium to raise awareness of children's rights. A fundraising campaign will also be held: Fans can donate their reusable cup deposits or support the cause online. The joint initiative coincides with World Children's Day on September 20th.

"VfL Osnabrück and Terre des Hommes share the same team spirit: We are committed to ensuring that every child can participate – in sports as well as in life. Play is a child's right. It promotes health, friendships, a sense of responsibility, and empowers children. For millions of children worldwide, however, play remains a luxury: They lack safe spaces and time, and poverty often forces them to work," says Joshua Hofert, spokesperson for the board of Terre des Hommes .

"I invite all fans: Donate your cups or support us online, find out more at the Terre des Hommes stand and join us in making a stand for children's rights. With your donations, we will work together with Terre des Hommes to create safe play and shelter spaces, promote sports and exercise programs, and foster mental well-being through sport," said Dr. Michael Welling, Managing Director of VfL Osnabrück.

Five years of premium partnership

VfL Osnabrück and Terre des Hommes have been linked through a premium partnership for five years. This partnership allows VfL Osnabrück to provide pro bono visibility for Terre des Hommes – from social media posts to stadium advertising boards. Furthermore, joint projects are regularly implemented, such as fundraising campaigns for humanitarian aid and peace initiatives. The partnership underscores the shared goal of protecting children and strengthening their rights – in Osnabrück and worldwide.
