Children need a healthy environment

Millions of people are affected by natural disasters and depend on ongoing humanitarian aid. Environmental destruction and the consequences of climate change exacerbate the already precarious situation and threaten the livelihoods of children and young people. Thousands of girls and boys become ill because they breathe polluted air, lack clean water for drinking and washing, or have to play on poisoned soil. 

Terre des Hommes supports projects that enable families to live and manage their resources sustainably. Children actively participate and learn the importance of protecting nature. They need a healthy environment to stay healthy, learn, and play.

"Lights on – nuclear power off!" This motto shaped the founding of Terre des Hommes cooperation partner Green Planet Energy eG over 20 years ago. As an independent cooperative for energy supply from renewable sources, GPE has been making waves in the energy market ever since, both politically and as a pioneer with sustainable products. 

Since 2020, Terre des Hommes has been working with the market pioneer Green Planet Energy eG. Since then, Terre des Hommes receives a €30 donation for every switch to clean green electricity and innovative wind gas via the campaign website. Together for children's right to a healthy environment.
