Our name, " Terre des Hommes ," stands for "Earth of Humanity." As an independent children's rights organization, we empower children and young people and protect them from violence and exploitation through our projects. We provide humanitarian aid and support projects with local partner organizations to improve children's living conditions – in a collaborative and participatory manner. Worldwide, we support approximately 400 projects for children and young people in 47 countries. 

We are looking for someone to join our Africa team as soon as possible.
 

                    Institutional Partnerships Officer (m/f/d)


Your tasks

  • They develop and write co-financing applications according to BMZ and other national and international funding guidelines – in close cooperation with regional teams and partner organizations.
  • They oversee the implementation of ongoing projects and keep an eye on financial monitoring, risk management, and reporting and quality requirements.
  • They prepare factual and financial reports for our funding providers and review invoices and audit reports.
  • They work on the strategic development of institutional partnerships and contribute to resource diversification.
  • They strengthen our partner organizations through capacity building , support monitoring and evaluation processes, and accompany external evaluations.
  • If necessary, you will represent Terre des Hommes to donors and other relevant stakeholders.


What we wish for 

  • A completed degree in a field related to development cooperation, international relations, social or political sciences, or a comparable area.
  • Several years of experience in working with institutional donors , ideally BMZ as well as other European or multilateral donors.
  • Sound knowledge of funding guidelines, application procedures and reporting obligations in the area of ​​state co-financing.
  • Practical experience in supporting partner-oriented projects with African organizations – from application to implementation to completion.
  • Security in financial monitoring and reporting , as well as in dealing with audits, reviews and requirements.
  • Experience in strengthening partner organizations (e.g. capacity building, monitoring and evaluation processes).
  • Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
  • Regional knowledge of sub-Saharan Africa or individual countries or contexts is expressly desired.
  • High intercultural sensitivity, independent and structured working style, and enjoyment of working in international teams.
  • Willingness to travel to project countries on official business.
