Reading, learning and getting creative together
In collaboration with CPL, we organize children's libraries and reading circles in the state of Puebla. A particular focus is on training reading facilitators so that communities can gradually take over and run their reading circles independently. The groups are not just about reading; they also focus on non-violent parenting, conflict resolution, and activities that provide children with new spaces for expression and connection. Currently, CPL supports ten regular reading circles where children and teenagers take books home and inspire their families to read as well.
Many children report that the reading circles have given them more self-confidence and that their families now read together. The projects create safe spaces where children can support each other and strengthen the entire community.
This project is part of the "A Chance to Play" , through which Volkswagen employees, together with the Volkswagen Group Works Council, have been supporting projects for children and young people worldwide for 25 years. In cooperation with Terre des Hommes sustainable opportunities for young people are being promoted.
