Osnabrück, May 3, 2022 – The Presidential Board of terre des hommes has appointed Joshua Hofert as the new Head of Communications. He will take up his post at the terre des hommes national office in Osnabrück on June 1.
“We are delighted to have found a children’s rights expert in Joshua Hofert, who, despite his young age, possesses exceptional communication skills and a profound understanding of political processes, and who also has firsthand experience of our project work in many regions of the world. With him, we will further sharpen terre des hommes ’ political profile and advocate strongly for the enforcement of children’s rights worldwide,” explained Regina Hewer, Chair of the Presidential Board of terre des hommes .
The 26-year-old previously worked as head of the policy and programs department at terre des hommes and before that was a member of the voluntary terre des hommes Presidential Board , the supervisory board of the association, for several years.
“ terre des hommes is needed today more than ever – as a strong and independent voice standing alongside children. The war against Ukraine, with its dramatic consequences, especially for children and families there, demonstrates this. At the same time, it exacerbates global crises and thus affects people far beyond Europe who suffer from poverty, hunger, and the effects of the climate crisis. My goal as a board member will be to ensure that terre des hommes receives more support through donations and engagement so that we can help where it is most needed,” said Joshua Hofert.
Hofert will succeed Birte Kötter, who left terre des hommes in February of this year. The terre des hommes board is now complete again; other board members are Beat Wehrle (Programs) and Ursula Gille-Boussahia (Finance/Administration/Human Resources).
