The Osnabrück Club Foundation donates 5,000 euros to Westphalian Peace Aid by terre des hommes

Osnabrück, January 10, 2023 – The Westphalian Peace Aid for Children, founded by terre des hommes last September, continues to gain momentum. Today, Dr. Fritz Brickwedde, Chairman of the Osnabrück Club Foundation, presented a check for 5,000 euros to Beat Wehrle, Board Member for Programs at terre des hommes .

“I very much welcome the fact that this initiative was launched in Osnabrück in the run-up to the 375th anniversary of the Peace of Westphalia, in order to help children worldwide,” Brickwedde explained. “Especially in a situation of global political instability, it is important that the citizens of Osnabrück join forces to enable aid measures for the disadvantaged. We were particularly impressed by the commitment of Gabriele and Bert Mutsaers, owners of the Bedford sausage and ham factory, who played a key role in the founding of the Westphalian Peace Aid organization and have been generously supporting terre des hommes for 20 years.”

Beat Wehrle, Program Director of terre des hommes , expressed his gratitude for the valuable support from the Osnabrück Club Foundation: “A look at world events shows that children in particular suffer from the consequences of war and violent conflicts. They need our support now more than ever. I am therefore very pleased that our Westphalian Peace Aid fundraising initiative has been so well received here in our region and supported by many partners from business, politics, and civil society.”

The Westphalian Peace Aid supports aid projects worldwide for children in war and crisis regions, but also for refugee children in the Osnabrück region.
