Our focus areas
Our group deals with a wide range of issues related to the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The focus of our work is always guided by current events and the ongoing campaigns of Terre des Hommes .
Our current main focus is on the following topics:
Exploitative child labor
Exploitative child labor is banned worldwide – yet 79 million children toil under dangerous, unhealthy, and exploitative conditions. Currently, the number of children forced to work is rising – for the first time in 20 years. We are raising awareness of the plight of working children through various campaigns.
Children's right to a healthy environment
Environmental destruction, climate change, and the exploitation of nature pose a particular existential threat to children: polluted water, contaminated soil, and toxic air have serious consequences for their health. Through information booths and exhibitions, we inform the public about how children and young people in Terre des Hommes projects worldwide are advocating for the right to a healthy environment.
