Organized by the North South Forum Munich eV and the Department of Europe and International Affairs of the City of Munich, the trade fair presented a diverse program focusing on global justice, sustainable development and international cooperation.
Key elements of the fair included topics such as climate protection and climate change, human rights, projects in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe, education for sustainable development/global learning, fair consumption and sustainable business practices, health and city partnerships
Workshops and hands-on activities took place in four interactive rooms: lectures, readings, roundtables and creative activities for children and young people.
Our activity stand was a real eye-catcher. Not only the children loved answering the children's rights questions on the wheel of fortune. As a "prize," we offered a selection of fair trade, gelatin-free gummy bears. Everyone was thrilled with them; for some, it was a completely new experience.
For crafting, we had prepared templates for donation boxes, so that children could independently collect donations for Terre des Hommes at home or wherever they wanted, and thus experience themselves as effective: true to our motto: STRONG CHILDREN - JUST WORLD!
This time we also offered fair trade Advent calendars and Christmas chocolate for sale from the Weltladen Feldmoching (one of our cooperation partners)
It was really great that there were five of us at our stand at the trade fair. Besides Karsten, Zsolt, and Andrea from the Munich group, we were also able to recruit two former colleagues from Munich, Ilona and Katharina, to join us.
We took turns manning the booth, giving each of us the opportunity to network with other exhibitors at the trade fair. We had many interesting and encouraging conversations: thank you to the organizers for the meticulous planning!
At the conclusion of the "Munich globally in solidarity" trade fair, all participating actors were invited to a reception from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, with excellent vegan catering provided by UFG Unterföhring.
The "Munich Globally in Solidarity" trade fair was a fantastic experience for us: a day full of new ideas, valuable exchange, and a great deal of optimism. We are highly motivated to continue our positive activities for "STRONG CHILDREN and a JUST WORLD" within our Munich group.
