We celebrated 50+ years Terre des Hommes -AG Munich

Around 40 donors, members, cooperation partners and interested parties from the neighboring Olympic Village followed our invitation to the BMW Neighborhood Forum to celebrate with us.

After the welcome, we first informed everyone about our work at Terre des Hommes. A particular highlight of the evening, however, was the presentation by Bilal Hasaf . He had traveled all the way from Herford and, under the title "I want to live for peace," shared his personal and moving story of fleeing his homeland.

Using his own photographs and a short film, Bilal gave a compelling account of his escape from Rojava, the Kurdish-majority part of Syria, to Germany in 2015. He has since found his new professional and personal home in Herford and has also founded a new Terre des Hommes group there.

Bilal's story and his wise and encouraging closing words deeply touched everyone present. Afterwards, there was a lively exchange over vegan snacks and drinks. Fair trade sweets and coffee from the Feldmoching World Shop were also available for purchase.

It was a wonderful evening filled with a special atmosphere of togetherness and peace. Many thanks to everyone who helped make this evening an unforgettable experience!
