Almost everyone in Achim knows it: the " Terre des Hommes Market" at Brückenstraße 5. Three days a week, Achim residents can browse and find new favorite items. The selection ranges from secondhand clothing to small household goods. Clothing donations are always very welcome.
Around 30 dedicated women and men between the ages of 40 and 80 are the driving force behind this market, generating an impressive sum year after year. This money benefits children in projects supported by Terre des Hommes . But that's not all: the annual Christmas bazaar, exhibitions, events during Achim's Weeks Against Exclusion, benefit concerts, and much more complement the group's volunteer activities and are therefore an extremely valuable part of Terre des Hommes in Germany.
Speaking of benefit concerts: To mark the 45th anniversary of the Terre des Hommes Achim group, a special benefit concert took place on Easter Saturday at the KASCH in Achim, the group's monthly meeting place. In the packed main hall, the band "Souly," with their diverse repertoire of rousing groove numbers and heartfelt ballads.
