Evacuate Afghans with offers of asylum before it's too late!
On the third weekend of Advent, volunteers from our Terre des Hommes Osnabrück group collected numerous signatures at the Christmas market for a letter to the local members of parliament Matthias Middelberg (CDU), Boris Pistorius (SPD), Heidi Reichinnek (Linke) and Feliz Polat (Grüne).
Their shared goal: to admit Afghans who are still stranded in Pakistan despite having received a German resettlement offer. Many of them are women and children. Among those affected is a former employee of one of Terre des Hommes. He and his family face deportation to Afghanistan starting in January, putting their lives at risk. ' partner organizations Together with over 250 organizations , we demand : 1. Immediate evacuations: Unbureaucratic departure of all people with resettlement offers before the end of the year. 2. Fast-track procedures: Security checks and visa applications for all resettlement programs (including the Human Rights List and the Transitional Program) must be completed quickly. 3. Protection from osnabrueck@tdh-ag.de, : The German government must negotiate with Pakistan, prevent deportations and guarantee safe accommodation until the procedures are completed.
