More than fifty years after Terre des Hommes ' first art auction in Stuttgart in 1969, the concept continues to thrive: The auction held at the Württembergischer Kunstverein in early February achieved a very good result of around €50,000. This success was made possible by generous donations from 120 artists, 30 galleries, and private collectors, who contributed a total of 256 works, and a highly dedicated team of volunteers led by organizers Annegret and Erich Junginger. Many thanks for this outstanding commitment.
Around 400 art enthusiasts attended the auction and bid enthusiastically on artworks by renowned artists such as Jürgen Brodwolf, Karl Duschek, Heidi Foerster, HAP Grieshaber, David Hockney, Horst Janssen, Horst Peter Schlotter, Anton Stankowski, and Jan Peter Tripp, as well as on works by young, up-and-coming artists. The proceeds will go to a project in northern India that provides children and young people away from exploitative work in mica mines with access to education.
