High award for long-time Terre des Hommes cooperation partner
Gabriele and Bernhard Mutsaers receive the Order of Merit D
On behalf of the Federal President, the Lower Saxony Minister of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection Barbara Otte-Kienast awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany to Gabriele and Bernhard Mutsaers. The two managing partners of the Osnabrück Bedford Wurst- und Schinkenmanufaktur have been selling the "Osnabrück Peace Schinker" for 18 years, of which one euro of the proceeds sold for each sold to Terre des Hommes. The cooperation launched in 2003 has already provided over one million euros. From these funds, a school project in Angola was supported by 2015, and since 2016, donations have been benefiting children and their families in Myanmar and in the Thai border area with Myanmar, who receive school lessons and medical help in the refugee camps.
In her laudation, Minister Otte-Kinast thanked the Mutsaers siblings for their commitment. "Lower Saxony needs responsible makers like them," she emphasized. "As a politician, I can get around a lot and I am always amazed at how many great people we have with us."
For Terre des Hommes, press spokesman Wolf-Christian Ramm conveyed thanks to the children's aid organization. »Behind what they have both created in the past 18 years is an attitude that is more important than ever: solidarity and willingness to help, energy and willingness to share with people who need support. We would like to thank you for this and look forward to this great award with you, «said Ramm.
