Heart instead of hate
Following the brutal Islamist attack in Solingen, numerous people gathered at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin to commemorate the victims and demonstrate against terror and hatred. It was made clear that radical Islamist terror must not lead to the division of our society or to the blanket blaming of asylum seekers for acts they themselves deeply abhor.
In our projects, we promote integration, equal opportunities, and social participation. Many of the children and families in our projects have fled radical Islamist oppression and terror in Syria and Afghanistan. The fact that their protection is now being called into question is a dangerous form of populism that spreads fear and incites hatred.
We firmly believe that every child counts, no matter where they come from!
