Our work

We are fighting against the recruitment of child soldiers. Worldwide, approximately 250,000 children are used as soldiers in armed conflicts. As a sign of our resistance, we are collecting red handprints at information booths, in schools, or as a purely online campaign.

We launched the quiz series in 2022, featuring different formats from many categories. The Gläbbicher Quiz Night is now well-known in Bergisch Gladbach, and we receive inquiries from other groups about participating.

The art bazaar organized by the Bergisch Gladbach branch of Terre des Hommes is an annual institution in Bergisch Gladbach, taking place every November. It has now been held more than 55 times.

We present exhibitions on topics concerning human rights and especially children's rights, e.g. the right to a healthy environment, exploitative child labor, children's rights at the EU's external borders and paintings by Afghan female artists.

For years, the Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium has been holding an event with the 9th grade on this topic in mid-June.

We offer lectures on various topics related to the work of Terre des Hommes with competent speakers and exciting insights.

For many years we have participated in the city festival with an information stand, collecting donations and providing information about Terre des Hommes .

The concerts and comedy events we organize bring joy, and the net proceeds benefit our Terre des Hommes project.

We are committed to a healthy environment, for example by participating in actions of Gläbbich climate organizations or our own activities.
