Our special feature: Children's and Cultural Association Oberhausen eV.
In order to carry out independent projects locally, the Terre des Hommes group in Oberhausen founded the association "Kinder- und Kulturkreis Oberhausen e. V." (Children's and Cultural Circle Oberhausen) in 1983. The members of the association are identical to those of the Terre des Hommes group in Oberhausen.
The association's goal is to promote coexistence between foreign and German citizens in Oberhausen. An important focus has always been, and remains, educational work with children.
The work of the children's and cultural association is divided into 3 areas:
- Educational and project work
- Children's and youth work and
- Intercultural and sociocultural work
For its work, the Oberhausen Children's and Cultural Association was awarded a certificate by Federal President Johannes Rau in 2002. The association received another award in 2006 from the Alliance for Democracy and Tolerance. Our refugee work was recognized at the City of Oberhausen's Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony in 2015.
