Why the “Good Life” is important for a children’s rights organization
Terre des Hommes works in both the Global North and South to promote societal transformation towards social justice, ecological sustainability, and economic sustainability. We advocate for fair, equitable trade relations and production conditions. Together with allied organizations, Terre des Hommes in Germany and Europe works to ensure that not only development policy, but also our lifestyles, economic and trade policies, and strategic interests are shaped with a view to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
A shift away from the traditional model of "development" towards "a good life for all" is also important for a children's rights organization like Terre Des Hommes . Our mission statement clearly states this.
Beyond the familiar patterns of development policy, Terre des Hommes fights alongside children and young people worldwide for their rights. We support our partner organizations in actively and constructively contributing to the building of a strong, inclusive civil society.
