Why we must act now
The "war on drugs" has officially ended, but its consequences remain. Extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests, and denunciation continue to shape the lives of many families. Children and young people, especially in poorer urban neighborhoods, need protection, justice, and a future. Our partner organizations provide on-the-ground support, both in emergency situations and with long-term assistance.

Matikas* is one of tens of thousands of children and young people who were suddenly left to fend for themselves due to the violence. His father was shot dead, his mother arrested – both innocent. Since then, he has worked as a parking lot attendant to support his siblings. Thanks to our partner organization Tambayan, he is now able to go back to school. And since her release from prison, his mother has been receiving help to build an independent life.

- School supplies and access to bridge schools

- For €30 children receive a school package (uniform, bag, materials)
- 60 € provide a family of five with nutritious meals for one week
- 150 € enable a communal reading corner in a community center
