On the state of children's rights worldwide: Keynote Speech by Mikiko Otani, Member of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child
Dear Friends and Supporters of terre des hommes,
We would like to invite you to a keynote address by Mikiko Otani, Member and immediate past Chair of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. Ms. Otani will speak on the situation and shortcomings of the implementation of children's rights worldwide. She will address the recently adopted General Comment on Children's Rights and the Environment with a Special Focus on Climate Change, as well as the situation of children facing a growing number of authoritarian regimes.
The keynote will mark the start of the 6th Delegates' Conference of terre des hommes Germany in Siegburg. Every five years, elected youth delegates, project partners, members and staff of terre des hommes from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe assemble to decide on the joint program strategy for the next five years.
The presentation by Ms. Otani will be followed by a panel discussion with delegates present, in which you are invited to participate and ask your questions.
