The number of dead and injured in southeastern Turkey and Syria is rising hourly following the devastating earthquake. Rapid assistance is needed to help the survivors quickly. Terre des Hommes is providing a total of €250,000 in emergency aid as a first step.

Thousands of people in southeastern Turkey have lost relatives and friends overnight. They stand in front of the ruins of their homes, desperate and freezing. They need tents and blankets, warm clothing, food, clean drinking water, and medicine. Terre des Hommes is working with its local partner organization Support to Life , which is familiar with the situation on the ground and is caring for those affected and the many traumatized children.

Terre des Hommes is also launching humanitarian aid in Aleppo, Syria. Millions of Syrian civil war refugees live in the region, having suffered from the civil war for twelve years and already dependent on international aid for their survival. The supply situation is dire, and the full extent of the destruction is still difficult to assess. Our sister organization, Terre des Hommes Italy, is providing some 6,000 people in six collective shelters in Aleppo with urgently needed blankets and mattresses, as well as hygiene products, lamps, and baby supplies.

Terre des Hommes will expand its emergency aid in Syria and Turkey as quickly as possible to help more earthquake victims. We are urgently requesting donations for this.
