The Presidential Board of Terre des Hommes

Regina Hewer

Chair

Professional background:
completed a degree in science and business administration and managed a manufacturing company in an international corporation for around 20 years.

Why I'm involved Terre des Hommes
: "...because all children have rights, and I want to help make them a reality."

Christoph Dallmayr

Deputy chair

Professional career:
Dr.-Ing. in electrical engineering, retired two years ago after 41 years of professional experience. Previously as a developer, then manager (including managing director of two foreign subsidiaries), with a focus on sales.

Why I'm involved Terre des Hommes
: "I consider myself to be part of the middle class in Germany, so I'm privileged in terms of vocational training, freedom of expression, safety, health, etc. This doesn't apply to most people on earth – especially children. That's why I want to work towards improving this situation – even if it's just a small change."

Bilal Hasaf

Professional background:
Refugee from Northern Syria, living in Germany since September 2015, working as a massage therapist. Six months after fleeing, I volunteered in Ludwigsburg. Today, I volunteer in Herford and the surrounding area. My focus is on integration, asylum policy, and refugee children.

Why I'm involved with Terre des Hommes ...
"...because I firmly believe that every child has the right to a safe and happy future. Through my commitment, I can actively contribute to improving the lives of children in need."

Udo Hentrich

Assessor

Professional career:
Dr. phil. (Political Science), teacher at a vocational college (until the end of January 2025), prior to that, ten years as facility manager and teacher in training preparation for a church-run organization; degree: Management in Non-Profit Organization; Master of Arts in Psychology and psychotherapeutic training with private practice; director of ALTERAMENTUM - Humanist Continuing Education and Training Center.

Why I am involved Terre des Hommes
: "My entire life, I have been committed to people and humanity. We enjoy so many advantages and privileges here in the heart of Europe. I want to help ensure that other people - especially children - also have these opportunities. All people, and especially children, should not only have the chance to lead their own self-determined lives, but also have a right to them. The foundations for this are: peace, food and drink, a home, and education. I want to contribute to this - as best I can. My motto: It may be naive to believe I can improve the world, but it's just as naive to believe I can't improve the world.

Robert Kissling

Assessor

Professional career:
1981 lawyer. 1982 judge, from 1985 in a criminal division at the Bremen Regional Court.

Why I'm involved Terre des Hommes
: "From the very beginning, I was fascinated by the opportunity to work with others to provide concrete help for self-help, while simultaneously identifying the causes of hardship and injustice and pushing for change. It's not just the participation of our project partners in decision-making that's important to me, but also the active involvement of children and young people. The central challenge for me today is a decisive commitment to global, sustainable and self-determined development in which solidarity is practiced and children's and human rights are respected."

Servet Karakoyun

Why I'm involved Terre des Hommes
: "Every child has the inalienable right to grow up in safety and dignity and to shape their life freely. Terre des Hommes makes it possible to make an effective contribution to protecting and strengthening children's rights – a step towards a future in which hope and justice are not mere ideals, but become a lived reality."

Why I'm involved Terre des Hommes
"In light of global crises and human rights violations, it's more important than ever

TDH enables me to help young people assert their rights
."
