Mali suffers from violence, poverty, and political instability. Armed groups have been fighting each other for years, and ethnic tensions repeatedly erupt, leading to attacks and acts of revenge. Hundreds of thousands of people are displaced. Only half of all children complete primary school. Hunger, child labor, and child trafficking are on the rise.
