Vostok SOS helps people in war
Every time the evacuation teams of our partner organization Vostok SOS set off, they risk their lives: sometimes a heavy fire starts immediately after departure. Often a settlement cannot be reached because of the bombing providers.
Why do you do that? Many have their own life story behind it: Vostok SOS was founded in 2014 by people who fled from the east of Ukraine because of the armed fights. Helping children, women and men in their homeland are a matter close to their heart. "If I couldn't do anything in this situation, it would drive me crazy," says an employee.

Daily, families and care facilities contact the Vostok SOS hotline in Uzhhorod and ask for help: the people in the contested areas and the displaced people who had to leave everything behind need food, hygiene articles and medicine. Vostok SOS is looking for ways to procure what you need and bring the person seeking help. When it comes to evacuations, all details are first clarified: Where is the person located? Can she reach a collection point? Is there a place that you can go to after the evacuation? Then the routes of the evacuation teams are sighted and adapted. Vostok SOS has a special eye on people with disabilities or who need special support for other reasons. Often they don't know where to go after their evacuation. Vostok SOS does his best so that they get a new place to stay - and despite everything, can live on.
