Almost everyone in Achim knows it: the " Terre des Hommes Market" at Brückenstrasse 5. Three days a week, Achim residents can browse there and purchase new favorites. The selection ranges from used clothing to small household items. Clothing donations are always welcome.
Around 30 dedicated women and men between the ages of 40 and 80 are the many small wheels that keep this market moving, generating an impressive amount of money year after year. This money benefits children in the projects supported by Terre des Hommes . But that's not all: The annual Christmas bazaar, exhibitions, events during the Achim Weeks Against Exclusion, benefit concerts, and much more complement the group's volunteer activities and are therefore an extremely valuable part of Terre des Hommes in Germany.
Speaking of "benefit concerts": To mark this year's 45th anniversary of the Terre des Hommes Achim group, a special benefit concert took place on Easter Saturday at the Achim KASCH, the venue where the group meets monthly. In a packed hall, the band "Souly," with their wide-ranging repertoire of rousing groove numbers and soulful ballads.
