Alnatura coffee promotes social project

Fair coffee - fair partnership

Peru is severely affected by climate change, and the livelihoods of the indigenous population are under severe threat. Their culture is also increasingly being lost. Alnatura is therefore supporting a social project run by Terre des Hommes with one of its coffee varieties: 40 cents from every pack of "Peru Cafe" purchased goes to an educational project in Peru.

"The long-standing collaboration between Alnatura and Terre des Hommes in Peru ensures that children and young people have access to education and that the knowledge of environmentally friendly agriculture in local smallholder farming communities is sustainably strengthened."
Beat Wehrle, Director of Programs, Terre des Hommes

Educational project in Peru

Peru is severely affected by climate change, which severely threatens the livelihoods of the indigenous population, especially in rural areas. Indigenous culture is also increasingly being lost. To counteract this, Terre des Hommes ' "Sumak Kawsay" project aims to reintroduce the traditional knowledge of Peruvian indigenous peoples regarding sustainable agriculture and their own culture to the younger generations living there – an important basis for securing food and income.

That is why this project promotes the protection of cultural identity, the preservation of traditional craftsmanship, the cultivation of domestic plants and variety of seeds and strengthens cross -generational learning.
