Children need a healthy environment

Millions of people are affected by natural disasters and dependent on permanent humanitarian aid. Environmental destruction and the consequences of climate change tighten the already precarious situation and endanger the livelihood of children and adolescents. Thousands of girls and boys get sick because they inhale dirty air, do not have clean water to drink and wash or have to play on poisoned earth. 

Terre des Hommes supports projects that enable families to live and manage their lives sustainably. Children actively participate and learn the importance of protecting nature. They need a healthy environment to stay healthy, learn, and play.

"Lights on – Nuclear off!" This motto shaped the founding of Terre des Hommes ' cooperation partner Green Planet Energy eG over 20 years ago. As an independent cooperative for energy supply from renewable sources, GPE has been making waves in the energy market ever since. Politically, but also as a pioneer with sustainable products. 

Since 2020 Terre des Hommes has been collaborating with market pioneer Green Planet Energy eG. Since then Terre des Hommes has received a €30 donation for every switch to clean green electricity and innovative wind gas via the campaign website. Together for children's right to a healthy environment.
