On the first anniversary of the takeover of the Taliban in Afghanistan, demonstrations took place in many cities under the motto "Don't Forget Afghanistan". In Berlin alone, an estimated more than 2,000 people moved from the Federal Foreign Office to the Federal Chancellery.

The demonstrators, including representatives of Terre des Hommes partner organizations and also employees of Terre des Hommes, asked the federal government to help people quickly and unbureaucratically. To do this, they called for an air bridge for the promised immediate admission of former local forces and their families, some of whom continue to endure in the country. Furthermore, they appealed to the federal government not to forget the Afghan civilian population and to enable financial support against famine in the country through international and local non -governmental organizations.

A wide alliance had called for the demonstrations, which, among other things, belonged to Terre des Hommes, the Initiative Seebrücke and Pro Asyl.
