Follow the Navels - a trip around the world

On the way for children in need

Digital nomads Greta and Jan Navel visit Terre des Hommes projects and promote their support.

They not only want to get to know the world, other people and other cultures, but also do something for children who need help: Greta and Jan Navel, both in their mid -30s, gave up their old job and found one where they can work from anywhere in the world. The only thing you need is a laptop and an internet connection. They want to travel around the world in a car developed as an expedition mobile.

"After more than a decade of working in a large corporation, we no longer wanted to devote our lives to the competition and business," says their website. "But it took a serious illness, followed by a one -year honeymoon around the world until we found the courage to escape the well -known hamster wheel."

Greta and Jan Navel converted an old car into a home on wheels. They plan to use it to travel the world and visit Terre des Hommes projects. They've already encountered the first one in Berlin: The Advisory and Support Center for Young Refugees and Migrants (BBZ) is currently converting a bus with the support of an art lab for young people in Kreuzberg (ARRIVO BERLIN Übungswerkstätten/S27 – Art and Education).

Young refugees can test their skills in car mechanics, in which wood and metal processing and in the electrics can test and discover new work areas. As soon as the bus is ready for use, refugees can be offered to profession and education directly in front of the immigration office or before your accommodation initial advice on residence and social law.

"We want to direct the attention we're currently receiving to children in need," says Greta. "They need it much more than we do. We think Terre des Hommes is doing great work, which we're very happy to support."
