On September 13 and 14, 2025, around 50 Terre des Hommes members and some full-time staff members traveled to Bad Honnef for the 2025 General Assembly. Before the official General Assembly (GA), a forum was held under the theme "Impetus for Strengthening Civil Society." Jan Wenzel (VENRO, Head of Strengthening Civil Society) was invited to speak. His messages were encouraging: Wenzel emphasized the role of engagement as a counter-narrative, as well as the importance of cooperation with new actors and the need to remain optimistic even in these times!
Various workshops and a joint review of the 2026 annual planning rounded out the program. The official agenda provided ample opportunity for meetings and exchanges between volunteers and full-time staff. This year's agenda included new elections: new Presidential Board members and the representatives of the General Assembly on the Board of Trustees of the Terre des Hommes to be elected.

The Presidential Board's members are Bilal Hasaf (Herford), Servet Karakoyun (Heidelberg), Shanti Normann (Montabaur), Philipp Sammer (Berlin), and Moska Sediqi (Herford) . The evening before, we said goodbye to four long-time companions: Regina Hewer ( Presidential Board Chair), Robert Kissling ( Presidential Board ), Ingrid Mendonca (South Asia Regional Coordinator), and Christian Ramm (Press Spokesperson, who will retire in June 2026).
It was an inspiring event, and we are already looking forward to the General Meeting on the last weekend of September 2026 in Hanover.
