Our name, " Terre des Hommes ," stands for "Earth of Humanity." As an independent children's rights organization, we empower children and young people and protect them from violence and exploitation through our projects. We provide humanitarian aid and support projects with local partner organizations to improve children's living conditions – in a collaborative and participatory manner. Worldwide, we support approximately 400 projects for children and young people in 47 countries.

IT Project Manager (m/f/d)
Your tasks
- Working closely with our specialist departments, you will plan and manage IT projects from the tendering process to implementation, placing emphasis on gathering requirements, analysis, and prioritization.
- In this role, you translate technical requirements into implementable IT solutions (specifications, user stories), coordinate external service providers, and actively support the change process from stakeholder management and communication to permanent implementation.
- At the same time, you are responsible for monitoring and evaluating our processes and ensuring that our requirements are met and continuously improved.
- They provide operational support for the implementation of our IT roadmap and are responsible for the gradual introduction of software-supported processes (e.g., workflow systems, collaboration tools, etc.) including the documentation and creation of process maps, guidelines and manuals.
- Your profile is rounded off by operational activities such as supporting the establishment and expansion of a central purchasing department, from needs assessment and tendering to ordering and coordination with the supplier.
What we expect from you
- You have a completed degree in (business) informatics, information management, business administration with an IT focus, or a comparable qualification.
- They bring practical experience in leading IT projects or in IT-related project/process management, ideally in an NGO, non-profit or public sector.
- They have a very good understanding of processes in organizations and their representation in IT systems and are proficient in using common tools (e.g. Microsoft 365 / collaboration tools, ticketing/workflow systems).
- They enjoy analysis, documentation, and pragmatic implementation, and impress with their strong communication and moderation skills in German and English.
- They have a strong service orientation, team spirit, and a desire to take on diverse tasks in a small IT department
