Berlin/Osnabrück, 10.06.2025. On Tuesday, June 17th, Terre Des Hommes and Welthungerhilfe will present this year's “Compass 2025 - on the reality of German development policy”.
After years of growth, public development achievements decrease massively. The cuts have serious consequences for international development cooperation and also humanitarian aid. How will the federal government react to it, how will this affect the household 2025 and the following years?
German development policy is already under pressure: legitimacy issues, geopolitical upheavals and growing conflicts affect shrinking budgets. With this year's compass we therefore put the guiding question "Quo Vadis development cooperation and humanitarian aid?". The more dramatic situation in view of the humanitarian crises - for example in the Gaza Strip and in Sudan - underlines how urgently political answers to this question have to be found. The report shows the opportunities and opportunities for directional decisions.
We would be happy to welcome you to this digital press conference and ask you to register by June 16 at press@welthungerhilfe.de.
