Regina Hewer remains Chair of the Presidential Board of Terre des Hommes for another year

Terre des Hommes general assembly elects new Presidential Board .

Osnabrück/Bad Honnef, September 29, 2024 - At this year's general assembly, the volunteer members of Terre des Hommes elected Regina Hewer as Chair of the Presidential Board of the international children's rights organization Terre des Hommes for another year. The 68-year-old has been a member of the Presidential Board since 2016 and a long-standing volunteer member of the Terre des Hommes group in Delmenhorst-Ganderkesee. Regina Hewer is a natural scientist with additional business training and has worked in research, IT, and human resources management throughout her long career until she took over as Managing Director of a manufacturing company within an international corporation.

"I am fully committed to Terre des Hommes because there I can combine concrete aid with the political commitment to realizing children's rights," Hewer explained in her acceptance speech. "In light of a political shift to the right and the questioning of the importance of development cooperation, it is more important than ever to work for a just world and to clearly state what needs to change. I would like to work on this for another year to make our world a better place for children."

The six-member Presidential Board , a voluntary body, functions as a supervisory board. It decides on the strategic direction and business policy of Terre des Hommes and oversees the work of the full-time Executive Board. Christoph Dallmayr (Munich) was elected Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Board . Robert Kissling (Bremen), Udo Hentrich (Düsseldorf), Servet Karakoyun (Heidelberg), Bilal Hasaf (Herford), and Philipp Sammer (Berlin) were elected as additional members.
