Osnabrück, 30.05.2022 - parallel to the Interior Minister conference (IMK) in Würzburg, a conference of young refugees funded by Terre des Hommes will take place from June 1 to 3. Together with the partner organization "Young people without borders" and a broad alliance of refugee and human rights organizations, Terre des Hommes calls for the demonstration "Light and recording now!"
- Press conference on June 2nd, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Catholic University community in Würzburg
- Demonstration on June 2nd, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. from the main train station to the conference venue of the IMK
The IMK faces a number of pressing questions that have to be clarified, including the inclusion of the refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine and the implementation of the improvements in asylum law decided by the traffic light coalition, in particular the right to stay rights for many years of tolerated refugees.
#Dontforgetafghanistan: Don't let the people in Afghanistan down!
The Federal Government lets people down in Afghanistan. Many of them, including project employees of Terre des Hommes who have worked for the rights of children and women, have been in mortal danger since the Taliban took over in Afghanistan in August 2021. Even people who have worked for German organizations or the Bundeswehr and are therefore pursued by the Taliban often have no chance of recording in Germany. We are therefore calling for federal and state admission programs, the fast admission of particularly in need of protection and endangered Afghan, a reform and acceleration of the local worker procedure and the consideration of all endangered family members in the recording.
#Bleiberecht now: No more toleration!
We are committed to ensuring that the Federal Government finally opens up perspectives for all tolerated children, adolescents and adults and implemented the right of lead rights agreed in the coalition agreement generously and promptly. Because 242,000 refugees in Germany live with the uncertain status of toleration, the majority of them have been living for many years. Most of them have fled from Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Iran or Russian partial republics such as Chechnya. Her everyday life is characterized by lack of prospects, fear of deportation and the restriction of social rights. We therefore call for a general stopping stop from the IMK so that it is ensured that people will not be deported quickly before the new right to stay in the Bundestag is decided.
