Update for earthquake aid in Myanmar

On March 28, Myanmar was struck by two severe earthquakes. More than 5,300 people were killed and at least 11,000 injured. In addition to providing initial care for the injured and those grieving, emergency relief efforts have long since begun: supplying drinking water, setting up emergency shelters, and trauma care for children. Two long-standing Terre des Hommes partner organizations are providing emergency relief on the ground – Equality Myanmar and HIMM.

The disaster affects a population that has been suffering from terrorism and armed attacks for years. There has been civil war in Myanmar for more than four years. And as early as 2024, with "Taifun Yagi" a severe natural disaster hit the country.

20 million people are dependent on humanitarian aid - a number that the United Nations before the earthquake.
