Osnabrück: Exhibition »No Place for Children«

Our volunteer Terre des Hommes group in Osnabrück and Exil eV presented the new exhibition "No Place for Children" in October. With it, they powerfully brought the perspectives of young people seeking protection closer to the visitors.

Every third asylum application in Germany comes from a child or young person. Many of these young people are fleeing war, violence, and poverty – and are seeking protection and new opportunities. But in Germany, they often experience insecurity, cramped accommodations, and a lack of support. Studies show that the reception system hinders integration and violates the rights of children.

The exhibition "No Place for Children" presents their perspective. Children and young people from the State Reception Center (LAB) in Bramsche-Hesepe also documented their daily lives with disposable cameras – directly, honestly, and movingly. Their photos, along with those from other Terre des Hommes , provide an authentic glimpse into the lives of young refugees in our neighborhood.
